About us
Since opening our doors in 2007, Half-ton Studios has grown from a couple of modest rooms - in a space we shared with a local brewery! - to the large purpose built studio space that we work from today. After nearly 15 years running the studio one of the most satisfying aspects of our development has been the sheer variety of projects that come through out doors: From singer songwriters and indie/rock bands though to recording a 12 piece Jazz band live or hosting podcasts or voiceover sessions - weβre here to help see your project reach its full potential.
Crucial to the success of any recording is the quality of the engineers. At Half-ton you can be sure that you're in very safe hands. We're very much a musician's studio at heart, and whether you want to track an entire band live in our huge live room or build up a production layer by layer, our team will help you plan the sessions to make the most of your time in the studio. As well as being technically capable and able to work quickly, a good engineer knows when to give an opinion and when to stay out of the way. No two recording sessions are the same, and the real craft is knowing how to get the most out an artist, or band, and how to run a productive and successful session.
